I kid about the zombie apocalypse, but not about the security flaw that sliding glass door can be. I don't even want to think about it!

We received one to try out in our home. DH and I both loved that it had a dual use for us - we could use it at just about any entryway thanks to being made for both hinged and sliding doors to help keep our home secure. The bar length is easily adjusted and goes from 27-1/2" to 42" - it basically fit every door in our home, plus the bay windows! To use on a hinged door, there's a yoke piece that you place under the doorknob. The pivoting ball joint assures full contact with floor - so it fits at the perfect angle. Because we mostly have wooden floors, I was a little worried it could scratch them, but the padded foot provides sure grip without scratching the surface. It's easy to place in and remove again, so even if you have a high use door, it takes but a few seconds to put it back into place. I really wish I'd have something like this in college! I'm really pleased with the extra layer of security it gives me - if someone should manage to thwart this, if it falls to the floor it is going to make a ton of noise thanks to the steel, and that should give me a head's up and a few extra seconds to dial 9-1-1 and pull out security layer #2.
